In Epping, our Area Guide uncovers a suburb built on the same principle— leafy and peaceful, yet just moments from the city’s pulse. It’s a lifestyle-first neighbourhood where connectivity and calm go hand in hand. The Scene carries this same theme, from cult classics on film to platypuses in the wild and a date with Monet and Matisse. 02 HOME TOUR Twostyle transforms this family home into a considered study in contrast, where colour and materiality shape the experience from room to room. WORDS: Olivia Storrie PHOTOGRAPHY: Simon Shiff INTERIOR DESIGN AND STYLING: Twostyle MoodShift
SITCHU MAGAZINE When Melbourne interior design studio Twostyle was tasked with the interiors of this four-bedroom family home, the vision was bold, curated and timeless, with the added challenge of ensuring practicality remained at its core. The result is a home that shifts effortlessly between light and dark, bold and understated—proof that, in the right hands, multiple palettes can coexist without ever feeling disjointed. Co-Director of Twostyle, Alanah Giuliano, explains that the deliberate use of contrasting palettes allowed the team to ensure each room offered a different experience. “Rather than repeating a single formula, each space has its own identity, mood, and level of drama, making the home feel layered, dynamic, and full of discovery,” she shares. “We intentionally designed each space around how it would be experienced,” she adds. “The lighter areas, such as the entry, living, and dining spaces, were designed to feel open and welcoming, filled with natural light. In contrast, the more intimate rooms, like the media room and powder room, embrace deeper tones to create warmth and depth.” A favourite of the team, the media room was designed to be fully immersive thanks to bold colour-blocking and the use of rich textures, velvet upholstery and soft furnishings. “It’s dramatic yet comfortable, and a perfect example of how bold design can still feel incredibly inviting,” explains Alanah. Ensuring each space remained cohesive came down to a consistent material palette, sculptural forms and layered textures. Just as the tones of the home rely on the interplay of contrast and cohesion, so too do the textures. “We focused on balancing sculptural, expressive pieces with softer, calming elements to ensure the home felt both visually engaging and effortlessly liveable,” adds Alanah. “Rather than repeating a single formula, each space has its own identity, mood, and level of drama, making the home feel layered, dynamic, and full of discovery. — Alanah Giuliano 03
04 HOME TOUR “The architecture already had a beautiful softness to it, so we wanted the furniture to continue that language. Curved silhouettes help balance the stronger architectural elements while creating a sense of comfort and flow. From the rounded sofa to sculptural dining chairs and organic occasional pieces, every curve was chosen to enhance flow, softness, and visual interest,” shares Alanah. She continues, “With such a bold architectural foundation, the main challenge was ensuring each room felt unique without the home becoming visually overwhelming. We focused on creating moments of impact while maintaining consistency through materials, colour, and form, allowing each space to feel exciting individually yet cohesive as a whole.” “The existing finishes throughout the home were already incredibly bold and statement-driven, so our furniture and styling selections were designed to complement and elevate that vision rather than compete with it,” she adds. In line with Twostyle’s philosophy of crafting highly curated spaces, the team selected furniture based not just on its comfort but also on its ability to serve as a functional sculpture, and at times this required something custom. “The custom dining table is a standout, featuring statement burl timber pedestal legs paired with a natural travertine stone top, creating a striking focal point in the dining space. We also designed a custom chocolate velvet bed frame by Create Estate, which brings warmth and a luxurious richness to the master bedroom.” Being a family home, however, this renovation wasn’t purely aesthetic. “Practicality was just as important as aesthetics. The children’s bedrooms were designed to reflect their individual personalities while allowing them to evolve with the space over time. Throughout the rest of the home, we selected durable finishes such as PU leather dining chairs and performance fabrics for key upholstered pieces, ensuring the home could withstand everyday family life without compromising on design.” The perfect marriage of Twostyle’s design philosophy and their client’s personality and needs, the project’s successful use of contrast proves you can have it all. As Alanah puts it, “It’s bold without feeling overwhelming, layered without feeling cluttered, and every space feels considered.” “The architecture already had a beautiful softness to it, so we wanted the furniture to continue that language. Curved silhouettes help balance the stronger architectural elements while creating a sense of comfort and flow.” — Alanah Giuliano INTERIOR DESIGN AND STYLING: Twostyle PHOTOGRAPHER: Simon Shiff WORDS: Olivia Storrie

The property market is constantly evolving, and after several years of extraordinary conditions, we’re seeing a return to a more measured environment. Buyers are taking more time to make decisions, properties are spending longer on the market in some locations, and achieving the best possible result requires a more considered approach. SITCHU MAGAZINE Looking for more tips for your property, or thinking about buying or selling your home? Visit belleproperty.com/buy While changing conditions often create uncertainty, they also reinforce something that has always been true: the right advice can make all the difference. “When markets become more challenging, vendors are looking for stability, confidence and reassurance,” says Belle Property, Hockingstuart and Acton | Belle Property CEO Nick Boyd. “They want to know they’re working with people who understand the market, have proven experience navigating different market cycles and can provide clear advice throughout the process. That’s where a trusted brand and an experienced agent become incredibly valuable.” Every Market Rewards Expertise Differently In exceptionally strong markets, homes can often sell quickly regardless of the strategy behind them. But when conditions become more balanced, experience becomes a genuine point of difference. Pricing needs to be carefully considered. Marketing needs to reach the right audience. Buyers are often taking more time to make decisions, so understanding what’s driving demand locally can make a difference to the level of interest a property attracts. This is where experience comes into its own. An agent with a deep understanding of the local market can provide clarity and confidence, helping vendors make informed decisions about pricing, marketing and negotiations. By responding to buyer feedback and adapting the sales strategy as a campaign unfolds, they can help maximise opportunities and achieve the strongest possible outcome. Confidence Comes From Local Knowledge National headlines can paint a broad picture of the market, but property is most impacted by what is happening locally. Neighbouring suburbs can perform very differently, and demand can shift quickly depending on what’s happening in the area. An experienced agent isn’t relying solely on historical sales data. They’re speaking with buyers every day, identifying emerging trends and recognising opportunities before they appear in market reports — insight that lets them price and position a property based on what’s happening now, not what happened six months ago. Strategy Creates Opportunity Selling a home today requires far more than professional photography and an online listing. The most successful campaigns are carefully considered from the outset, with every decision designed to maximise exposure, generate buyer competition and create the strongest possible outcome. From preparing your property for market and selecting the right sales method through to buyer management and negotiation, strategy plays a critical role throughout the entire campaign. Importantly, experienced agents also know when to adapt. Markets aren’t static, and neither should a sales strategy be. Responding to buyer feedback, adjusting marketing activity or refining the campaign when needed can often be the difference between a good result and an exceptional one. Trust is Built Through Communication Selling a home is one of life’s biggest financial decisions, so confidence in the process matters as much as confidence in the outcome. The best agents communicate openly throughout the campaign, and that transparency lets vendors make decisions without unnecessary stress. As Nick Boyd explains, “People don’t just choose an agent because they’re selling a property. They’re choosing someone to guide them through an important life decision. Experience, communication and trust become invaluable, particularly when market conditions are changing.” More Than an Agent, a Trusted Partner Choosing an agent isn’t simply about finding someone with local knowledge or a strong sales record. It’s about selecting someone who understands your goals, tailors a strategy to your circumstances and has the support of a trusted brand behind them. For more than two decades, Belle Property has built its reputation on premium service, genuine relationships and expert local knowledge. Combined with a national network and deep understanding of local markets, that experience gives vendors confidence that they’re making informed decisions, regardless of market conditions. While conditions may shift, confidence comes from having the right people guiding you through them. Local insight, trusted advice and a tailored strategy can make all the difference.
