See Something Unexpected at Sydney Fringe Sydney Fringe is back this September, bringing more than 350 events and 2,000 artists to venues across the city. Expect everything from theatre, comedy and cabaret to circus, dance, immersive shows and plenty of wonderfully unexpected ideas. The festival kicks off with a free street party on Stanley Street, before taking over 64 venues throughout Sydney. Consider this your excuse to see something a little different this month. August 26 - October 11 Across multiple venues DISHES, DESTINATIONS & EXPERIENCES ACT The Scene Spring has officially arrived, and with it comes a fresh crop of things to do. Think colourful gardens, creative festivals, makers’ markets, night markets and plenty of reasons to make plans beyond your usual weekend routine. 08 QLD NSW Celebrate the Season at Melt Festival This month-long celebration of queer arts and culture will be taking over the city with 100+ events spread across over 70 venues. You’re going to want to clear your calendar, with highlights spanning public art, world premieres, concerts, drag and plenty of parties. We’re talking famed public artist Florentijn Hofman’s giant pink duck floating down the Brisbane River and Brisbane’s biggest ever river pride parade. Keep an eye out for more fun from local restaurants and bars embracing the season with limited edition menus and events. October 21 - November 8th Locations across the city Melt Festival @melt.fest Usher in Spring at Floriade Canberra’s annual floral spectacular is back, transforming Commonwealth Park into a sea of colour for 30 days. More than a million flowers will bloom across sprawling displays of tulips and annuals, alongside live music, food and wine, markets, gardening workshops and familyfriendly activities. Come nightfall, NightFest adds illuminated floral displays and live entertainment to the mix. Daytime entry is free, making it an easy excuse for a spring day trip.
